THINK - Variety (1973 German Prog Rock Psych)

EXCELENTE VENENO ALEMÃO!! MAIS UM DA SÉRIE GARDEN OF DELIGHTS!! BANDA OBSCURA QUE FAZIA UM PROG ROCK QUE DARIA PRA ILUSTRAR COMO UMA MISTURA DE PINK FLOYD COM WEST COAST, SPACE ROCK, FOLK ROCK, PROGRESSIVO, COM BOM USO DE FLAUTAS, VIOLINO E TECLADOS!! O ALBUM É CHEIO DE VARIAÇÕES SONORAS, IMPREVISÍVEL, VIAGENS TRIPS E UM UNIVERSO MUSICAL SURPREENDENTE!! PRA MIM UM ALBUM MAGISTRAL DO INÍCIO AO FIM!! VENENO RECOMENDADO E DE VIAGEM BOA!!

Rare 1973 German Hung arian prog-psych record. A blend of Pink Floyd like space rock and progressive folk rock with flute, violin and keyboards this is a great album that really is filled with 'variety' from trippy muiscal voyages through folk to blues. The underlying theme is psychedelic improvistaion and the band are red hot throughout.

Frank Voigt - flute
Gerd Pohl - guitar, voice
Ricky Ramor - bass
Rodrigo Ramor - voice, percussion
Friedhelm Wordehoff - drums
Kajo Sandrik - voice, keyboards

The group Think were comprised of Hungarian, German & Czechoslovakian musicianship, its members had already experiences in some other bands. Think originated from Marl (north of the Essen conurbation) and were actually formed by Friedhelm Wordehoff (drummer in Essen beat bands since the mid-1960's), two Hungarians (whose parents had fled to Germany in the late 50's) and the cream of the crop of local talent from the bands: Pohl's Tractor and Tiffany Shade. The Hungarian Ramor brothers found another "Eastern" compatriot in Czech Ludovich Sandrik who had also been playing with the Philharmonia Hungarica. Progressive rock with guitar, flutes, piano, organ, violin, bass, drums and vocals. The name of the band is its leitmotif. The music is a joint effort showing the band´s conformity. The English lyrics, full of images and metaphors, are musically arranged in such a way that everyday problems become apparent through symbols. In 1972 the only LP was recorded at the small Menga-studio at Gelsenkirchen in an edition of 500 copies.
