ALTÍSSIMA RARIDADE!!

ÁLBUM GRAVADO AO VIVO DA PUGH'S PLACE COM MÚSICAS QUE NÃO ENTRARAM NO DISCO DE ESTÚDIO CHAMADO "WEST ONE", GRAVADO EM 1969 E JÁ POSTADO AQUI NO BLOG ANTERIORMENTE!! BASICAMENTE É HARD PROG ROCK, IMPROVISAÇÕES, MUITA GUITARRA E COM SOLOS DE FLAUTA!! A FLAUTA ROLA SOLTA PRINCIPALMENTE NA MÚSICA "AFTER DEATH" NUMA LONGA JAM!! VENENO RARÍSSIMO!!

Information:
Recorded live in Paradiso (Amsterdam), Exit (Rotterdam) and Pow-Wow (Leeuwarden)

This is a live album by Frisian rock band Pugh's Place. Surprisingly it contains solely tracks that weren't released as a studio recording, that is on their one and only studio "West One" from 1969. The music on this album is rather heavy, with plenty guitar and flute solos. Also the vibes, played by Kalma give this release a very distinct sound. As said, the music is heavy rock. The progressive parts come from the instrumental breaks. This can typically be said from the first song on the album, the second has a Jethro Tull falvor over it, mainly of course due to the flute solo. The third track starts rather lovely, but then evolves into a driving rhythm with extensive solos for guitar and flute. Great track. "Flying so high" is a beautiful melodic track and another highlight of the album. The closer, "After death" is the longest track on the album, and that usually means the highlight of the album. That principle goes here too. It is a dynamic track with lots of room for improvisations. All in all a good album. Musically it doesn't differ much from the studio album, albeit a bit more heavy and aggressive. (Dutch progressive rock of the nineteen seventies)

Hans Kerkhoven: Lead and acoustic guitar
Jan Ottevanger: Bass guitar
Jan van der Heide: Flute, guitar, vocals

MONSTER RARE ORIGINAL DUTCH PRESSING LP! Just a small press!
Original early 70's Dutch pressing Heavy Psych , Heavy Rock lp with Pugh's Place , Children of Jubal & Rick and Dave on the tiny and weird Universe Record. Side one is Pugh's Place doing 2 blistering Deep Purple covers, Side 2 has 2 tracks by Children of Jubal that are amazing heavy psych band. It contains the only stuff ever released. These geezers came from Friesland, upper North, and the tune 'Blue Horizon', which was included in the Waterpipes and Dykes CD,   is where all psych and trips anywhere in this world seem to come together. A real rawly recorded psychedelic masterpiece lasting almost 5 minutes with piles of effects, GOOD!There other tune is cool too. Two Americans 'Rick and Dave'   have one cool crude moog psych tripped up tune. Home made type cover

INVADERS - There's a Light There's a Way (1970 South Africa Hard Prog Beat Rock)

BANDA SUL AFRICANA QUE NOS ANOS 60 SÓ LANÇOU EPs NA BASE DO BEAT ROCK E NESSE ÁLBUM DE 1970 APRESENTA UM SOM MAIS MADURO COM UMA SONORIDADE QUE PASSEIA ENTRE O HARD, PROGRESSIVO, BEAT E SOUL!! O ORGAN HAMMOND TRABALHA A MIL POR AQUI!! É UM DOS DESTAQUES!! NÃO É UM DISCO EXCELENTE, MAS SIMPLESMENTE UM BOM DISCO!! TEM UMA VERSÃO PARA "You Can't Always Get What You Want" DOS ROLLING STONES NUM ESTILO ROCK SOUL QUE FICOU BEM BACANA!!

Decent semi-progressive heavy rock with some late 60's beat influences. Nice guitar, singing, and Hammond organ work. The album includes a blistering soul rock version of the Stones classic “You can't always get what you want”. NOT A GREAT ALBUM, BUT SIMPLY A GOOD ALBUM!
