One of the few remaining blues groups. Flavium was founded in 1969 in Apeldoorn. The members: Hans Driesten (vocals, guitar, piano, harp, ex-Soul & Soul), Anne Geert Bonder (guitar), Erik Bagchus (bass, since 1973), Peter Beemsterboer (drums, ex-Soul & Soul) and Peter Dijksterhuis (organ, piano, till 1976 with Tony Sherman). Their peak years were in the latter half of the 70s when they released their best albums, "Bad Luck" and "Chalk Farm", but the group carried on through the 80s when the blues wasn't a popular musical attraction in the Netherlands or abroad, and are still going on strong, carrying on the noble blues tradition, playing in local pubs and clubs across the country. Those who are lucky enough to reside in Apeldoorn have a chance to see them many times each year, although their gigs are always sold out!
Although the group performs in English they're primarily known in their own home country.
