VENENO RARÍSSIMO E RECOMENDADO!!"A banda passou a maior parte de seu primeiro ano no circuito de clubes antes de um encontro casual com o pessoal do Boulevard Records, um selo com uma má reputação sobre passar a perna em seus artistas e também pela liberação de produtos de baixa qualidade. Ingênua, a banda decidiu gravar o seu álbum num porão e com orçamento bem baratinho, mais ou menos em torne de 25 libras por cada membro. O disco se chamou "Hard Rock" e chegou às lojas no início de 1973. A banda ficou surpresa e seus componentes putos da cara ao descobrir que as pessoas que estavam na capa do disco não eram da banda. Podem notar que tem até uma mulher na capa e outros três integrantes nada a ver com os caras. Uma coisa de louco isso pessoal. Inacreditável. A Gravadora Boulevard explicou que eles estavam sofrendo de uma escassez de papelão e com isso decidiram reciclar algumas velhas capas para o disco da Equinox. Apesar da banda ter incrivelmente tolerado este tipo de tratamento e continuar com a gravadora, a banda deixaria de existir em janeiro de 1974. O vocalista Mick Shedd continuou a se apresentar com uma banda de classic rock chamada Hellhound. O tecladista Jon Stoppard se interessou e gravou um albuim solo de musicas celta chamado "Secret Gardens". Os outros membros o paradeiro é desconhecido."

Sounding much like many of their peers from the british music scene in the early 70's. The musicianship is decent enough and the writing is fully formed. "Land of Blue Fire" and "Black Mike" get the honors here as the stand outs. Thought from the beginning as a cash-in operation when hard rock began to spread throughout the UK, this LP features a very young band (keyboardist Jon Stoppard was 16 when this LP was released in 1973) performing the sounds of the day Equinox consisted of Mick Shedd on vocals and guitar, Sid Oldfield on bass, Jon Stoppard playing organ and Terry Waldon as the drummer Incidentally they are not the ones who appear on the sleeve, where they were replaced by some unknown hipsters, and knowing Boulevard and it's mother label Saga it was probably a stock photo rather than a proper session paid for the occasion The album sounds move through the early UK hardrock paths opened by bands such as Deep Purple, Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin, and although it must be said that our youngsters can't match the playing skills of the bands they mirrored in, it's justice to state Hard Rock as a more than decent effort, and a true rarity even for the conoisseurs of the genre.
