A banda Thunderpussy gravou Documents Of Captivity em 1973, com 1.000 cópias de vinil. A maioria dos registros foram dadas e alguns foram vendidos por US $ 1 a US $ 2, que a banda vendia em suas apresentações. Foi um desastre financeiro para a banda, que financiou a gravação e prensagem. A banda se dissolveu um ano depois e durante anos a gravação foi completamente desconhecida. Ficou na escuridão do anonimato. Colecionadores de todo o mundo, desde o Japão aos EUA estavam pagando centenas de dólares por um exemplar. Isso criou uma demanda para que fosse duplicada por uma empresa desconhecida e não autorizado na Europa chamado Creator que copiou de um álbum gravado. Esses registros não autorizados e de baixa qualidade são vendidos hoje por mais de 40 dólares, ou seja, é uma reedição pirata e sem autorização!!

Documents Of Captivity' was composed as a poem set to rock oriented music. It attempts to describe the natural course that people take in unknowingly creating their own cages and limitations. There is also a realization from time to time that one may escape those personal restraints. The Documents are musical ones and rare meants to be communicative either with words or musical impressions. Since these communications are recorded, they are all Documents.

CD reissue of awesome US private press from 1973. This is a concept album of lofty standards and execution melding hard rock, psychedelia and progressive into a truly unique whole. Featuring one epic concept piece, the album employs a classic power trio lineup full of dynamics and subtleties. Comes with four bonus tracks, including a killer cover of "Eleanor Rigby" and extensive liner notes from guitarist and leader Steven Morris."

"The band was the original Thunderpussy. We recorded and pressed Documents of Captivity  nearly 40 years ago in 1973 with 1,000 vinyl record copies. Most of the records were given away and a few were sold for $1 to $2 which the band collected at performances. It was a financial disaster for the band, which funded the recording and pressing. The band dissolved a year later and for years the recording went unknown. In the 1980’s it was brought to my attention that the original albums had become a worldwide audiophile cult phenomenon. Collectors from Japan to Cleveland were paying several hundred dollars for a copy. That created a demand so that it was duplicated by an unknown and unauthorized company in Europe named Breeder which copied from a record album. Those unauthorized and low quality records sell today for more that $40....."
