Faixas 1 e 2: São da banda Zyma e são excelentes. Nesta fase a banda tinha uma vocalista feminino e um masculino!! A sonoridade é bluesy pós rock Jefferson Airplane, lembrando um pouco de Joy Unlimited e Frumpy, mas muito mais cru e refinado!!
Faixas 3-4-5: São da banda Andora, batizada em homenagem ao pequeno e obscuro país entre a Espanha e a França!! Musicalmente falando, infelizmente nenhum elemento étnico está presente!! A faixa 3 é um acid rocker decente e direto com um bom trabalho de guitarra!! Na 4 é uma música curta lembrando um folk rock do tipo CSN ou Byrds. Já a faixa 5 considero o destaque dos caras e apresenta um belo groove com alguns excelentes solos de guitarra e percussão, lembrando a banda Missing Link, Nosferatu e o início do Epitaph!! Andorra mostra potencial suficiente para gravr um álbum inteiro, mas infelizmente isso nãoa conteceu!!
Faixas 6-7-8: Banda Penicilina, basicamente uma banda de blues rock de língua alemã, mas comercialmente orientada!! Falando da faixa 8 é um rip clássico instrumental semelhante a Ekseption, Trace ou Amos Key!! Além de algum trabalho de órgão Hammond bem legal, no geral não há muito o que destacar aqui!! Na minha opinião é abanda mais fraca do àlbum!!
Faixas 9-10-11: Aqui a banda Nexus nos leva para o reino do jazz, com flauta e sax bem interessante!! Na faixa 9 temos vocais e talvez seja a mais cativante de suas três faixas!! Na 10 temos uma peça instrumental de jazz rock absolutamente maravilhosa!! Ja´na 11 o clima é mais atmosférico, com piano elétrico, guitarra elétrica com um excelente solo de wah wah, sax e flauta!! Nexus é uma banda muito muito interessante e madura!!
Faixas 12 e 13: Banda Sun que mantêm um pouco o sabor do jazz estabelecido pelo Nexus!! Na faixa 12, que é a mais longa do Proton 1, tem alguns movimentos diferentes entre jazz, bluesy rock, folk melancólico e seções progressivas!! Os vocais e o órgão Hammond são bastante dominantes!! Já na 13 a banda quebra o violino!! Flauta e violão acompanham junto com vocais de harmonia, antes de partir para movimentos mais pesados!! Sun é definitivamente a banda mais progressiva presente no álbum, embora não seja tão madura ou profissional quanto Nexus ou Zyma!!

ORIGINAL COPY ORIGINALLY RELEASED IN 1974 IN GERMANY AS A DOUBLE ALBUM, LIMITED EDITION OF 300 COPIES AND TODAY A SUPER RARITY!! TO GET AN IDEA THE BANDS SUN AND ZYMA ONLY RECORDED AN LP YEARS LATER!! HERE WE HAVE OBSCURE KRAUTROCK BANDS IN THEIR ESSENCE!!
Tracks 1 and 2: They are by the band Zyma and they are excellent. At this stage the band had a female vocalist and a male vocalist!! The sound is bluesy post rock Jefferson Airplane, reminiscent of Joy Unlimited and Frumpy, but much more raw and refined!!
Tracks 3-4-5: This is by the band Andora, named after the small and obscure country between Spain and France!! Musically speaking, unfortunately no ethnic element is present!! Track 3 is a decent straight forward acid rocker with good guitar work!! Na 4 is a short song reminiscent of CSN or Byrds type folk rock. Track 5, on the other hand, I consider the highlight of the guys and presents a beautiful groove with some excellent guitar and percussion solos, remembering the band Missing Link, Nosferatu and the beginning of Epitaph!! Andorra shows enough potential to record an entire album, but unfortunately that didn't happen!!
Tracks 6-7-8: Band Penicillin, basically a German speaking blues rock band but commercially oriented!! Speaking of track 8 is a classic instrumental rip similar to Ekseption, Trace or Amos Key!! Aside from some pretty cool Hammond organ work, overall not much to point out here!! In my opinion it's the weakest band on the album!!
Tracks 9-10-11: Here the band Nexus takes us into the realm of jazz, with flute and sax very interesting!! On track 9 we have vocals and is perhaps the most catchy of its three tracks!! In 10 we have an absolutely wonderful jazz rock instrumental piece!! Already in 11 the atmosphere is more atmospheric, with electric piano, electric guitar with an excellent wah wah solo, sax and flute!! Nexus is a very very interesting and mature band!!
Tracks 12 & 13: Sun Band who keep a bit of the jazz flavor established by Nexus!! On track 12, which is the longest on Proton 1, there are some different movements between jazz, bluesy rock, melancholy folk and progressive sections!! The vocals and Hammond organ are quite dominant!! Already at 13 the band breaks the violin!! Flute and guitar accompany along with harmony vocals, before moving on to heavier moves!! Sun is definitely the most progressive band featured on the album, although not as mature or professional as Nexus or Zyma!!
