UM POUCO DA HISTÓRIA DA BANDA:
O Ballet Bronze teve sua origem em Nápoles quando Raffaele Cascone, futuro DJ do "Per Voi Giovani", se uniu a Giancarlo Stinga, Michele Cupaiuolo e Marco Cecioni para formar o grupo "Wild Beaters". Após a saída de Cascone, o quarteto se transformou no Bronze Ballet, inspirado na pintura de Edward Wadsworth, assinando com a RCA e lançando seu álbum de estreia, "Sirio 2222". O álbum, lançado em 1969, destacou-se pela fusão única de ritmos, apresentando uma mistura inventiva de elementos do rock e da música beat italiana, marcando o início de uma jornada musical inovadora para a banda.
Apesar de uma produção inicialmente esparsa e apática, "Sirio 2222" revelou a maestria musical do Bronze Ballet, com composições como "Un posto" e "Eh eh ah ah", demonstrando habilidades excepcionais e uma abordagem criativa à música. Embora tenha passado inicialmente despercebido comercialmente e tenha sido creditado erroneamente a outros compositores, o álbum deixou uma marca duradoura na cena musical de Nápoles, atraindo a atenção de Gianni Leone, que se juntou à banda, impulsionando-os para o sucesso como uma influente banda de rock progressivo.
Com a entrada de Leone, o Bronze Ballet evoluiu para se tornar uma força significativa na música italiana, lançando trinta e três turnês subsequentes intituladas "Ys". RESENHA
01. UN POSTO – 3′23: Prontos, guitarras, set, Rock! E cantado em italiano, o que é ainda mais legal. Uma vibe rock dos anos 60 com toda a psicodelia enraizada na música. A bateria também merece destaque, trazendo uma energia incrível.
02. Ah Ah Eh Eh – 3′59: Sabe aquele blues do Jethro Tull? Pois é, temos uma reminiscência disso aqui, com vocais cheios de presença. Além disso, as palmas dão um toque especial, às vezes no tempo, às vezes não. E é claro, a gaita não poderia faltar, como em qualquer blues autêntico. Me lembrou muito do Jethro Tull quando toda a banda entra, mas ao invés de flautas, seria gaitas.
03. NEVE CALDA – 2′56: Quase um Beach Boys com uma pegada mais sombria, imagino uma surf music mais intensa nessa introdução. Logo depois, nos versos, me lembrou The Animals, com excelentes guitarras entre as linhas. Os vocais de Marco Cecioni são muito marcantes, alternando entre raivosos e melódicos.
04. MA TI ASPETTERÒ – 3′20: Cheia de psicodelia, bem ao estilo Hendrix, com solos de guitarra incríveis e cativantes. O tema principal me lembra algo que não consigo definir.
05. MEDITAZIONE – 3′53: Extremamente bela! Com quarteto de cordas e uma melodia celestial. Até mesmo um cravo é incorporado, simplesmente divino! Com uma melodia triste e nostálgica, a música evolui para um rock mais intenso no final, com as guitarras e a bateria assumindo o comando. A sequência final com o quarteto de cordas é esplêndida!
06. GIROTONDO – 3′15: Mais uma vez, uma vibe à la Hendrix! Total influência do Acid Rock do final dos anos 60, mas com vocais que lembram os de The Monkees. Vários vocais malucos, como todo bom momento psicodélico deve ter, e muita guitarra e percussão variada. Uma pausa estratégica, e então tudo recomeça! ROCK!
07. INCANTESIMO – 6′46 [https://youtu.be/MA6MTPnqDQM]: Conhece o Blue Cheer? Não? Bem, é mais ou menos assim o som deles, uma banda anterior ao Black Sabbath e tão pesada quanto. Era mais ou menos assim o som dos caras, só que com um vocal mais grave e uma instrumental um pouco mais pesada, mas ainda com aquela pegada blues/Rock. Uma mistura de Ten Years After em italiano, liderada pelo baixo. E como todo som nesse estilo, a guitarra solando mais do que padre em sermão de missa!
08. TI RISVEGLIERAI CON ME – 2′41: Cheia de guitarras distorcidas e cheias de charme, alguns riffs ousados, e teclados discretos ao fundo. Vocais altamente competentes, especialmente no refrão, cheio de melodia e carisma. A bateria dita o ritmo, e os vocais de apoio só acrescentam mais energia à música.
09. MISSIONE SIRIO 2222 – 9′37: A 'clássica' do álbum começa com um belo violão e vocais bem trabalhados. É apenas uma introdução do que está por vir. As guitarras assumem o papel dos teclados, baixo marcante, bateria tribal e vocais evocativos. A terceira parte é pura energia rock, com os vocais anunciando para o mundo ouvir. Olha lá, pessoal, é o baterista se divertindo! (risos) Em seguida, a banda improvisa no estúdio, soltando toda sua criatividade. A quarta parte volta a ser bela e melódica, com destaque para o violão e os vocais.

With Leone's entry, the Bronze Ballet evolved into a significant force in Italian music, releasing thirty-three subsequent tours titled "Ys." Their legacy endures to this day, with the inspiring painting, "The Bronze Ballet" by Edward Wadsworth, still on display at the Tate Gallery in London, while their music continues to be appreciated by progressive rock fans worldwide.
01. UN POSTO – Ready, guitars, set, Rock! And sung in Italian, which is even cooler. A 60s rock vibe with all the psychedelia rooted in the music. The drums also deserve attention, bringing incredible energy.
02. Ah Ah Eh Eh – You know that Jethro Tull blues? Well, we have a reminiscence of that here, with vocals full of presence. Besides, the claps give a special touch, sometimes on beat, sometimes not. And of course, the harmonica couldn't be missing, like in any authentic blues. It reminded me a lot of Jethro Tull when the whole band joins in, but instead of flutes, it would be harmonicas.
03. NEVE CALDA – Almost like a darker Beach Boys, I imagine a more intense surf music in this introduction. Right after, in the verses, it reminded me of The Animals, with excellent guitars between the lines. Marco Cecioni's vocals are very striking, alternating between angry and melodic.
04. MA TI ASPETTERÒ – Full of psychedelia, right in the Hendrix style, with incredible and captivating guitar solos. The main theme reminds me of something I can't quite define.
05. MEDITAZIONE – Extremely beautiful! With a string quartet and a celestial melody. Even a harpsichord is incorporated, simply divine! With a sad and nostalgic melody, the music evolves into a more intense rock at the end, with guitars and drums taking over. The final sequence with the string quartet is splendid!
06. GIROTONDO – Once again, a Hendrix-like vibe! Total influence of late 60s Acid Rock, but with vocals reminiscent of The Monkees. Several crazy vocals, as every good psychedelic moment should have, and lots of guitar and varied percussion. A strategic pause, and then everything starts again! ROCK!
07. INCANTESIMO – Know Blue Cheer? No? Well, it's more or less like their sound, a band before Black Sabbath and just as heavy. That's more or less how the guys' sound was, just with a deeper vocal and slightly heavier instrumentation, but still with that blues/Rock vibe. A mix of Ten Years After in Italian, led by the bass. And like all sounds in this style, the guitar soloing more than a priest in a sermon! (laughs)
08. TI RISVEGLIERAI CON ME – Full of distorted and charming guitars, some daring riffs, and discreet keyboards in the background. Highly competent vocals, especially in the chorus, full of melody and charisma. The drums set the rhythm, and the backing vocals only add more energy to the music.
09. MISSIONE SIRIO 2222 – The 'classic' of the album starts with a beautiful guitar and well-worked vocals. It's just an introduction of what's to come. The guitars take over the role of the keyboards, prominent bass, tribal drums, and evocative vocals. The third part is pure rock energy, with vocals announcing for the world to hear. Look there, folks, it's the drummer having fun! (laughs) Then, the band improvises in the studio, unleashing all their creativity. The fourth part returns to being beautiful and melodic, with emphasis on the guitar and vocals.
